Manchester United face Schalke at Old Trafford tonight in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final clash.

United lead the tie 2-0 after a clinical display in Gelsenkirchen put them within touching distance of a place in the final at Wembley.

Barcelona await the victors after a 1-1 draw with Real Madrid last night was enough to book a place in the final.

A sublime pass from Andres Iniesta set up Pedro for the opening goal before Marcelo pulled a one back for the visitors, but the damage had already been done and Barca progressed 3-1 on aggregate.

Elsewhere, Stuart Pearce has defended his decision to pick Jack Wilshere and Andy Carroll in his squad for the under 21 European Championships.


Despite the protestations of Arsene Wenger, Arsenal youngster Wilshere says he will always answer his country's call.
