Chelsea left back Ashley Cole says the Blues’ winning run this year has given the side newfound belief, as they make a last minute effort to overtake title leaders Manchester United.
"When you win things, that's what makes you realise how good it is,” Cole said.
"I think the pressure is what drives people on. It makes you want to prove something, to carry on going and keep on winning things.
"I just want to win anything because I love the feeling.”
Cole has won every accolade in the English Premier League, and can currently stake a claim to being England’s most capped left back. If anyone knows what that winning buzz feels like, it’s Cole.
And the Chelsea star says that a winning atmosphere is just as apparent as a losing one, after Chelsea experienced a slump in form over Christmas.
"When you stop getting that feeling, I think that's when a lot of players tend to stop playing football because they haven't got the desire any more,” Cole said.
"I've still got many years of that desire left in me and the players we have here are all the same as me in that respect."
Cole says he’s in his best form yet as Chelsea prepare to face Manchester United this Sunday, after suffering some injury concerns last season.
"Last season I was missing training sometimes because of my ankle and then still playing," Cole said.
"But this season I've trained every day and played every game and it seems to be all right.
"Now I go into games thinking, 'Let's see if you can stop me running', or, 'I'm going to make you chase me', rather than the other way around.
"Instead of thinking about how they're going to get past me, they're going to be looking over their shoulders to see where I am."
