Adama Traore made his senior debut for Spain last night against Portugal. The two Iberian rivals played out a 0-0 draw at the Estadio Jose Alvalade in Lisbon, Traore replacing Barcelona legend Sergio Busquets in the 62nd minute of the game.Wolves' flying winger made quite the impact during his first 28 minutes of elite international football, producing a moment highlighting his two trademarks - speed and strength. The Premier League cult hero left his mark on Barcelona youngster Trincao, covering 20 yards in a matter of milliseconds and then effortlessly shoving the Portuguese starlet to the ground.A foul was given by the referee, but we simply cannot ignore Traore's ridiculous physical prowess.

So it begs the question; how did the Spaniard become such an impressive physical specimen? Well, according to the man himself, pumping iron 23 hours a day has nothing to do with it.

Instead, the 24-year-old believes one of the key reasons behind his bulging muscles and supreme athleticism is his diet.

"My gym work is guided by the personal trainer who takes me," Traore told Spanish publication AS after last night's game versus Portugal, per The Sun.

"But I don't do weights. My genetics are like that and it makes my muscles grow very fast. I do other exercises. Each person has to adapt what suits him best.

"I do a lot of core. The secret is to know your body and adapt the training to your physical condition.

"I have gained in muscles with training, rest and food. Food is essential and I consider it a very important part of training.

"Water - although I don't drink much in matches - is vital. Maintaining the water level in the body is essential for an athlete.

"I try to vary the amount of dishes and have a varied, healthy and balanced diet. I can eat a little paella as well as a typical Malian dish.with peanut sauce and brown rice.

"Everything is done by my mother, who is the best cook in the world. Then, like all athletes, I also throw in a lot of Italian pasta."

Looks like we all need to get on the 'Adama diet'!

This isn't the first time Traore has stated that his training regime doesn't involve lifting weights, so maybe he is actually telling the truth.

Time to rethink those gym routines...
