Erling Haaland: Borussia Dortmund star's best bits vs Romania prove he's world-class

Erling Haaland in action for Norway vs Romania

Sensational, dazzling, marvellous, world-class, generational. When it comes to a certain Erling Haaland, there are not enough superlatives in the dictionary to describe just how good he is.

The Norwegian superstar burst onto the scene with RB Salzburg last season seemingly out of nowhere and has taken his game to an extraordinary level.

The 20-year-old looks like he's been around for years and his finishing is absolutely devasting.

Last term, he racked up 44 goals in 40 matches, becoming the fastest player in the history of the Champions League to reach double figures.

His form for Salzburg was electrifying, and then he hit the ground running immediately when he moved to Dortmund.

Haaland netted 13 in 15 in the German Bundesliga after a move to Manchester United failed to materialise and he is showing exactly what the Red Devils are missing.

The Norway international is clinical, brutal and swashbuckling. Everything he does is done with such confidence that it defies belief.

His country may no longer have a chance of qualifying for Euro 2021 but he was in devastating form during the UEFA Nations League on Sunday evening.

The striker scored a hat-trick, his first at international level, and if that wasn't enough, he also nutmegged a defender before bearing down on goal.

Uncharacteristically, he missed that opportunity, but he took the rest in unerring fashion.

For a glimpse of how he got on, just check out his goals below...

The first strike is typical Haaland. The youngster runs in behind and from the left-hand side of the penalty area, buries the opportunity. His second goal is rather straightforward but his third is sublime.

He turns on the edge of the area and then fires a rasping effort past the Romanian goalkeeper, Ciprian Tatarusanu to seal a 51st goal in his last 48 matches.

As for the nutmeg, well, it was quite frankly disgusting. Check that out here...

In scoring that hat-trick, he became the first player to score a three-goal haul in the Nations League since Cristiano Ronaldo last year. He also took his tally to the campaign to ten goals in just seven outings.

The term generational talent is thrown around regularly nowadays, often undeservingly, but Haaland very much lives up to that tag. He is a sublime footballer and makes the game look far too easy.

Unsurprisingly, he earnt a WhoScored rating of 10 for his performance, completing three dribbles, five shots, and also a key pass. Breathtaking.
