Eddie Guerrero would have celebrated his 53rd birthday last week. As they do every year, WWE fans and stars have been taking the time to remember 'Latino Heat', who was taken long before his time, passing away back in 2005. He still had so much to give to the business and was arguably in his prime when he died, having won the WWE Championship against Brock Lesnar just 21 months prior. That was Guerrero's first and only world title win and although he had a short run with the belt, it was a memorable one. It wasn't supposed to be his only championship reign either.According to Bruce Prichard, WWE were set to put Guerrero back in the title picture shortly before his death, with a dream match against Shawn Michaels pencilled in for WrestleMania 22. "It was kicked around as a possibility because they never worked together, and that was, at least in my head, a dream match," Prichard said on his Something to Wrestle podcast. HBK vs Eddie would have been incredible"That was one of those that I definitely would love to have seen." It's fair to say that would match would've had the potential to tear down the house. Sadly, it never happened as Guerrero passed away six months before the event. Instead, WWE went with a plan B option, which saw HBK defeat Vince McMahon in a bloody, brutal No Holds Barred match. HBK wrestled McMahon insteadThat was good, but it wasn't quite Shawn vs Eddie, sadly. On Guerrero's 53rd birthday, a number of current WWE stars paid tribute to the legend. Randy Orton posted an emotional message, while Ricochet channelled his inner 'Latino Heat' on Monday Night RAW. He won his match against Cedric Alexander by DQ after faking being hit by a chair shot - a tactic straight out of Eddie's playbook.

"It's no secret that Eddie Guerrero was an inspiration to me and SO MANY before and after me. So it was an honour to be able to pay homage to an all-time great," Ricochet tweeted afterwards.
