Leeds striker Luciano Becchio is scheduled to have surgery to repair his injured hamstring next week.

The 27-year-old Argentine, who has scored 20 goals in 44 games this season, has not featured since the 2-2 draw with Watford at Elland Road on April 16.

Boss Simon Grayson told the club`s official website: "Luciano is pencilled in for an operation."

He added: "If we should make the play-offs we can delay it and it could be that he would play but otherwise he will have the op and he will be back for pre-season."

Leeds take on champions QPR at Loftus Road on Saturday while sixth-placed Nottingham Forest head to Crystal Palace.

Grayson's side need to win and hope Forest lose, with a six-goal swing in Leeds' favour.
