Tottenham Hotspur are preparing for a big season.
After falling short of expectations last term, the focus for the north London club is firmly on making stark improvements this time around.
Last season was a bit of a disaster and in truth Jose Mourinho did well to help the club to a sixth place finish, but everyone knows that expectations will be much higher now.
Finishing in the top four and challenging for silverware is the target and that's why Spurs have put so much effort on improving their squad in the transfer market.
So far the club have completed deals for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart and Matt Doherty from Southampton, Burnley and Wolves, while Sergio Reguilon and Gareth Bale both arrived from Real Madrid.
Spurs then addressed their striking woes with the addition of Carlos Vinicius from Benfica, but there's still one position which needs to be improved.
Tottenham have been heavily linked with a move for a defender this summer, however the closure of the international transfer window has limited their options.
That said, it appears that Mourinho's side may have found a solution.
Football Insider are reporting that a deal to sign Joe Rodon is edging closer.
The Swansea City man is attracting plenty of interest from north London with claims that a deal could be struck before Friday's deadline.
While Spurs are confident of agreeing a fee, it's claimed that they're considering offering players in part-exchange for the Wales international, with Cameron Carter-Vickers a potential to head for South Wales.
Whether this is enough to agree a deal remains to be seen, but it's certainly set to be an interesting couple of days.

This will be a great deal if Tottenham Hotspur can pull it off.
It's no secret that Spurs are looking to add a quality central defender to their ranks and Joe Rodon certainly fits the bill.
The North London side are watching their pennies at the moment, and that's why it's proving so difficult to strike a deal.
However the option of a part-exchange could be a game-changer.
Spurs have a number of fringe players who could be looking to move on in the coming days, and that could be their saving grace in this deal.
There's a long way to go before an agreement is reached, but it seems to be in everyone's best interests to get a deal agreed.
