The Champions League returns next week - and we can’t wait.

The 2019/20 competition was disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final all being played in one-off matches in Lisbon.

Bayern Munich eventually emerged victorious and you got the impression that would have been the case global pandemic or not.

But can they retain the trophy?

They’ve signed Douglas Costa and Leroy Sane but they did lose Thiago.

But can Europe’s elite challenge them for the biggest prize in club football this season?

Well, Marca have asked fans to vote for who they think has the best squad from Europe’s top 15 clubs.

The Spanish outlet themselves provided the 15 clubs and thousands of fans cast their vote.

Let’s check out the results:

15 | Manchester United | 0%

That’s right, Man Utd got ZERO percent of the vote. They did add Donny van de Beek, Alex Telles and Edinson Cavani to their squad this summer but they’re nowhere near Europe’s best sides right now.

10= | Inter Milan | 1%

Inter managed to keep hold of Lautaro Martinez and added Arturo Vidal and Achraf Hakimi. Could Antonio Conte’s side be a dark horse in the Champions League this season?

10= | Tottenham | 1%

Spurs had a fantastic transfer window, signing the likes of Gareth Bale, Sergio Reguilon and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

10= | Arsenal | 1%

They won’t be in the Champions League but Arsenal kept hold of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and signed Thomas Partey and Willian, as well as defender Gabriel.

10= | Atletico Madrid | 1%

We can’t wait to watch Atletico Madrid in the Champions League this season with Luis Suarez leading the line. They will have been gutted to lose Partey to Arsenal on transfer deadline day.

10= | Sevilla | 1%

Sevilla resigned Ivan Rakitic as well as adding Oscar Rodriguez, Oussama Idrissi, Marcos Acuna and Karim Rekik. The Europa League winners also seemingly held off Manchester City who were interested in star defender Jules Kounde.

8= | Paris-Saint Germain | 2%

PSG fell at the final hurdle last season and will be hoping to go one better this time around. With Kylian Mbappe and Neymar in their ranks, anything is possible. How will they cope with the loss of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, though…?

8= | Borussia Dortmund | 2%

Dortmund kept hold of Jadon Sancho and have Erling Haaland leading the line. Thorgan Hazard, Gio Reyna and Reinier Jesus are also getting better with age.

7 | Chelsea | 3%

Chelsea had a HUGE summer signing Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell, Edouard Mendy and Thiago Silva. Frank Lampard will be expected to reach the latter stages of the competition.

6 | Manchester City | 4%

Pep Guardiola replaced Leroy Sane with Ferran Torres, while buying two more defenders - Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake. Can they finally win the Champions League?

5 | Juventus | 5%

New manager Andrea Pirlo made moves for Alvaro Morata, Arthur Melo and Federico Chiesa. Cristiano Ronaldo will be 36 by the time the Champions League final rolls around and is looking to win it for a sixth time.

4 | Liverpool | 10%

The Premier League champions have improved even further by signing Thiago and Diogo Jota. They will be hoping for a return to Istanbul for the Champions League final - the scene of their incredible 2005 triumph.

3 | Barcelona | 11%

They may have kept Lionel Messi but Barca have lost Suarez, Rakitic and Nelson Semedo. Francisco Trincao, Pedri, Miralem Pjanic and Sergino Dest have all arrived at the Camp Nou as they look to bounce back from their humiliating 8-2 loss to Bayern Munich in last season’s quarter-final.

2 | Real Madrid | 24%

There were no summer signings for Real Madrid but 24% of fans believe they're strongest side in Europe. Martin Odegaard has returned from loan, while Eden Hazard will be expected to step up along with youngsters Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes.

1 | Bayern Munich | 34%

Bayern are the strongest side in Europe once again, it seems. With Sane, Costa and Marc Roca being signed, they might well be even better this season.
