Former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez wants to return to the Premier League, according to the Mirror.

The Spanish manager won numerous honours with the Anfield club, before being replaced by Roy Hodgson last summer.

But now with the summer approaching, and many Premier League managers looking over their shoulder, Benitez is targeting a return to the Premier League, according to his agent Manuel Garcia Quilon.

Quilon said: "He'd certainly prefer England. I have never received a call from the Giallorossi [Roma], but as I already said, he would like to manage a British club again."

Benitez joined Inter Milan shortly after leaving Liverpool, but endured a torrid spell before being sacked mid-way through the season.

Since his departure from the Italian giants, Benitez has moved back to England to live and could be the No.1 candidate for many chairmen this summer as the managerial revolving door looks set to go into overdrive in the summer.

Since his departure, Liverpool endured a difficult time under Hodgson, and soon turned to Kenny Dalglish, who is expected to be handed the job full-time this summer after accepting the job on a caretaker basis.
