Aston Villa are one to watch this season.

After narrowly avoiding relegation last term, Dean Smith's side are looking good value to be dark horses in the Premier League.

Three wins from three games is an excellent return, and while there's clearly a long way to go it certainly bodes well for the midlands side.

While Smith and his squad of players deserve credit, a huge aspect has been the club's summer recruitment.

Deals have already been completed to sign a number of talented players including the likes of Matty Cash, Ollie Watkins, Emiliano Martinez, Bertrand Traore and Ross Barkley, who completed a loan move from Chelsea.

But while these moves will serve the club well, it seems that there could be more arrivals at Villa Park before Friday's domestic deadline.

One player who has been linked with a move is Josh King.

The Bournemouth striker is attracting plenty of attention after impressing for the Cherries in the top flight over recent seasons.

While no deal has yet been agreed, former striker Darren Bent believes that King would be 'the perfect signing' for Smith's side.

Speaking to Football Insider, Bent said: “Josh King for me would be the perfect signing so it doesn’t surprise me there are a fair few people in for him.

“He can play so many different roles, he can play across the front three and not only that, he’s a proven Premier League goalscorer, he can play at a high level and he’s an international.

“If Villa can add what they’ve got there already, that is some bit of business for Dean Smith and Aston Villa and we should commend them for that.

"For me it’s a no brainer, if they can get it over the line then that’s a fantastic bit of business.”

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

What a deal this would be for Aston Villa.

Described by Alan Hutton as a natural goalscorer, Josh King is a player who could be a huge asset to Dean Smith's side.

As well as his ability to find the back of the net, it's the Bournemouth star's versatility that could also be key.

King can play as a centre forward or on either flank, which means that he'd be a really smart addition.

Whether a deal will happen before Friday's deadline remains to be seen, but it's certainly one that supporters would love to see happen.
