Everton are still looking to add to their squad.

The Toffees enjoyed an excellent summer transfer window and have done some genuinely exceptional business.

The signings of James Rodriguez, Abdoulaye Doucoure, and Allan have bolstered the midfield, while Ben Godfrey and Niels Nkounkou strengthen the defence and Robin Olsen adds competition to Jordan Pickford in goal.

However, they did not add a forward in the window and one can see why after Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s rise.

The striker has been exceptional this season, scoring six goals in four league outings, while he also made his England debut during the international break.

But it appears that they remain in the market for reinforcements in attack before the domestic transfer deadline on Friday.

Football Insider reports that they are in the race to snap up Josh King, who has been eyed by a number of clubs in this transfer window following Bournemouth’s relegation.

The Cherries had hoped to receive £20m for the Norway international, per the report, who has also been linked with West Ham United, Aston Villa, Fulham, and West Bromwich Albion.

However, they have now cut the asking price to £15m and the Toffees are now exploring the feasibility of a deal.

The report states that the terms of the deal will have to fall into place for Everton to make a swoop, but they have the resources to win the race should they want to.

West Brom are not in the race anymore, with King not keen on moving to the Hawthorns.

GIVEMESPORT’S Harry Sherlock says…

King could be a shrewd addition for Everton.

He is unlikely to go straight into the starting XI, but he would be an excellent option off the bench, providing support for the likes of Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin.

He has plenty of Premier League experience under his belt, scoring 48 goals in 161 appearances.

And he also has the ability to play both through the middle and as a left winger, offering the kind of versatility usually prized by Ancelotti.

If they can do the deal, this would be an excellent transfer for Everton.
