Conor McGregor has never been one to shun the limelight, and now the UFC fighter has reportedly splashed $5m of his multi-million dollar fortune on one of Lamborghini's luxury superyachts.

Securing one of just 63 models to be made by the famous Italian brand more renowned for its luxury sports cars, the Irishman has taken to social media to express his delight.

Edging out the competition for the 'Supercar of the Sea', the yacht features a carbon fibre design, 2,000 horsepower and a dual V12 engine.

The 32-year-old Irishman could not contain his excitement on Instagram.

'Honoured to secure the Number 12 edition of just 63 to be made. 1963 being the year Lamborghini first began, and 12 being, well you know Twelve!

'Proper F****** Twelve baby!'

He also thanked Giuseppe Constantino and the team at The Italian Sea Group for their amazing work.

On taking ownership of the bespoke yacht, McGregor has rather subtly dubbed the boat the 'McGregor Edition' and has opted for a classic electric green, or Verde Mantis.

Lamborghini unveiled the plans for the yacht earlier this year, and since then, the scramble for the keys has been unprecedented.

McGregor, meanwhile, has been preparing for a return to the Octagon against Dustin Poirier... according to the latest reports.

Having earlier this week agreed a second fight against the former lightweight champion, McGregor won their first bout six years ago, via a first-round TKO at UFC 178.

Regardless of what happens against the American this time around, next summer, at least he will be the proud owner of a boat very few will get the chance to experience.
