Tottenham Hotspur keeper Stipe Pletikosa admits he shouldn't have joined the club.
The Croatian international stopper moved to White Hart Lane on a season-long loan from Spartak Moscow back in August, but has only made one appearances for Tottenham Hotspur since the move.
Pletikosa has claimed that Harry Redknapp gave assurances over first team opportunities, and that the stopper would challenge Heurelho Gomes for the No.1 spot at Spurs during his time in north London.
"Spurs assured me I would get a chance to compete with Heurelho Gomes to be No 1," the goalkeeper told The Sun.
"Now, looking back, I realise that my move was a mistake."
An 82-cap international, Pletikosa does not lack experience and the 32-year-old will now be eager to earn more first team chances away from the Barclays Premier League.
Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, have vowed to stick with their Brazilian stopper and Gomes is again set to start this weekend despite an error at Stamford Bridge which cost Spurs some valuable points in their quest for Champions League football.
