Rangers vs Celtic is one of the most heated matches in world football.

Think of the Merseyside derby but on steroids. What happens in the Old Firm derby is pretty much unmatched in modern football.

However, there was a different feel to the one that took place on Saturday afternoon.

Rather than being cheered and jeered by thousands of unrelenting fans inside the stadium, this clash was played without a single supporter present.

For Rangers, this was always going to be a positive as they visited Parkhead already four points ahead of their fiercest rivals.

And they gave themselves a fantastic opportunity of ending Celtic's triumphant period by winning 2-0, courtesy of a double from central defender Connor Goldson.

The Hoops have been targeting a tenth straight SPFL crown but this result would put their hopes of achieving that in real jeopardy.

Morelos and Scott Brown

We are, of course, still early in the season, but a win for Rangers moved them eight points clear of Celtic, a side who do actually have a game in hand.

The title race hasn't exactly been full of drama over the last decade, but when these two teams meet, the unusual traditionally happens.

Whether it's Ryan Kent's gun sign celebration last season or some robust challenges from Scott Brown, the derby always finds a way of kicking off.

The 2020/21 season was no different either as Brown and the robust Alfredo Morelos had a coming together in the first half.

As you can see, Morelos and Brown exchanged a few heated words before the Colombian striker clips him around the head.

Why this happens, we're unsure, but an exchange initially happens after Morelos brings down Brown in clumsy fashion from behind.

The Rangers striker struts away but then he and Brown start talking to each other, leaving Morelos particularly unhappy.

On another day, if the referee sees it, then he could easily have been sent off for what he did.

Scott Brown

As it happens, he stayed on the pitch and Rangers went onto win
