Steven Gerrard's Rangers have the bragging rights in Glasgow after their convincing 2-0 win over rivals Celtic this afternoon at Celtic Park.

Following Rangers’ 2-1 victory there last season, their first win at the home of their greatest rivals since 2010, the blue half of Glasgow have gone and done it again for the second consecutive time, inflicting Celtic’s first defeat of the 2020/21 season.

Former Brighton centre-back Goldson fired Rangers ahead inside 10 minutes with a header from James Tavernier’s perfectly delivered free-kick. The right-back has now been directly involved in nine goals in 11 games this season.

Mohammad Elyounoussi came close to an equaliser shortly after, after the Norwegian international latched on to a long ball from Shane Duffy only to lob it over the bar.

Rangers then earned a well-deserved second goal nine minutes into the second half, with Scott Arfield’s low-driven cross finding the feet of Goldson, who fired home following an initially blocked shot which came back his way.

Ryan Kent, who scored in this fixture last season, looked set to add to Celtic’s misery on the 67th minute, only to find his volley take a much-needed, goal-saving deflection to deny Rangers a three-goal lead.

Celtic substitute Leigh Griffiths came close to getting one back for the hosts on the 81st minute as the Scottish international rounded Allan McGregor, but the veteran goalkeeper recovered and gathered the ball to ensure Rangers held onto their two-goal margin and clean sheet.

Late on, Tavernier looked to add a goal to his first half assist, but saw his free kick tipped over the bar by Vasilis Barkas.

Ultimately, Rangers ensured Glasgow is blue and extended their lead at the top of the SPL to four points, as they look to deny Celtic a historic 10th straight title.

For Neil Lennon's side, there are big questions to answer after they failed to register a single shot on target in 90 minutes.

Both sides are in Europa League action in midweek, with Rangers on the road to take on Standard Liège, and Celtic hosting European giants AC Milan.
