If you thought the Premier League hadn't delivered enough goals already this season, then Tottenham and West Ham United thought they'd provide an extra dose themselves.

This was a thriller, a match that will go down in top-flight folklore as one of the greatest comebacks we've ever seen.

It wasn't quite Cheikh Tiote levels when Newcastle came back from 4-0 against Arsenal to draw, but it had similar levels of drama.

Spurs were leading 3-0 at half-time and had opened their account after just 42 seconds through Heung-min Son. However, the Hammers came back fighting and scored three times in the final ten minutes.

The final strike was an absolute peach, a goal that will go down as one of the best we've seen given the context. With just 20 seconds or so remaining, Manuel Lanzini let fly from range with the outside of his boot.

Hugo Lloris tried as best as he could to get a hand on it, and he did, but such was the angle on the shot that he couldn't keep it out. Cue utter delirium. Lanzini pealed away, ripped off his shirt and was covered in a sea of claret and blue West Ham shirts.

This was an iconic moment, one that will live long in the memory.

Harry Kane and Heung-min Son

It was a goal befitting of the game itself, a match that saw some excellent goals. Son and Kane ran the Hammers backline ragged in the first-half and in doing so, they lifted themselves to third on a list of the best duos in Premier League history.

So, who features on this list? We took data from Transfermarkt and Opta to put together the 14 best duos in terms of combined goal contributions. For clarity, that's how many times a pair have assisted each other for a goal.

Here we go...

9= Olivier Giroud and Mesut Ozil (Arsenal) - 20 goals

Giroud gets a lot of stick for his days at Arsenal but has become one of the best target men in world football. However, had he been more clinical in front of goal then it's highly likely Ozil would have broken Thierry Henry's record of 20 assists in a Premier League season. The German finished one short on 19 in the 2015/16 campaign. Heartbreaking.

Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud

9= Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United) – 20 goals

Just imagine if Ronaldo had stuck around at United for a while longer. If he hadn't joined Real Madrid then it's pretty safe to say that his partnership with Rooney would have become the best in top-flight history. Their combination of 20 goals is still very handy, though.

Ronaldo and Rooney

9= Ryan Giggs and Eric Cantona (Manchester United) – 20 goals

Two absolute legends of Manchester United and the Premier League, Giggs and Cantona were a force to be reckoned with. Combine the energetic hard-working running of the Welshman with the nonchalance and flair of Cantona and you have a devastating combination. It's a shame we didn't get to see them together for a few more years.

8. Harry Kane and Dele Alli (Tottenham) - 21 goals

Dele may be struggling to get in the England team at the moment but he was no slouch a few years ago. He and Kane struck up quite the partnership but other Tottenham players have since surpassed what Alli has achieved alongside the England striker.

7. Nolberto Solano and Alan Shearer (Newcastle United) – 22 goals

This is a fantastic one. Nobby Solano may not have been the best player about but he should go down as one of the most underrated in Premier League history. He was a busy winger and was fortunate enough to play with the league's all-time top goalscorer. Shearer simply had to feature on this list at some point.

6. Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen (Tottenham) – 23 goals

Remember the Eriksen of old? He was a joy to watch when he was in full flow for Spurs and it's hardly surprising that he and Kane linked up on such a regular basis. Had the Dane not been alienated by Jose Mourinho and kicked up a fuss about leaving, this duo would have been far higher in terms of the best partnerships.

Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen

5=Theo Walcott and Robin van Persie (Arsenal) - 24 goals

When Walcott was at his peak, it was incredibly difficult for any full-back to stop him. The winger was absolutely rapid and beat defenders for fun, laying the ball on a plate for Van Persie who was one of the most destructive finishers the Premier League has seen. His record for Arsenal speaks volumes.

Theo Walcott and Harry Kane

5= Thierry Henry and Freddie Ljungberg (Arsenal) – 24 goals

The first Invincible pair to appear on this list, Henry and Ljungberg's understanding was scarily good. The Swede didn't quite have the pace of Walcott but his footballing brain and decision making was first-class. If he had an inch of space he'd pick you out every time. Add Henry into the equation, someone who rarely missed, and you were always going to claim plenty of assists.

Henry and Ljungberg

5= Steve McManaman and Robbie Fowler (Liverpool) – 24 goals

Surprisingly McManaman and Fowler are the only Liverpool pairing to feature on this list. They were ruthless in their peaks and it says a lot that they are still nine goals clear of the goal combinations amassed by Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah in the Premier League. They have plenty of catching up to do.

Fowler and McManaman

4. Teddy Sheringham and Darren Anderton (Tottenham) – 27 goals

Tottenham have had some fantastic partnerships down the years but Sheringham and Anderton's understanding is one of the very best we've seen. The former owes much to Anderton for how many goals he scored during his top-flight career.

3. Heung-min Son and Harry Kane (Tottenham) - 28 goals

Another Spurs duo? It's quite incredible just how many fantastic partnerships they've established down the years. Kane and Son have a natural togetherness and their link-up play is undoubtedly the best in the league at the moment. Since Mourinho took charge of Spurs in November 2019, Kane (33) Son (30) have had a hand in more goals in all competitions than any other Premier League players. Need we say anymore?

Harry Kane and Son

2= David Silva and Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) – 29 goals

Seeing Silva leave Manchester City behind in the summer was extremely sad. The Spanish magician offered so much to the Premier League and his partnership with Aguero is one of the main reasons they've won so many major honours in the last few years. Had the Argentine striker stayed fit more often, they perhaps would have been in with a shot of grabbing first place.

Aguero and David Silva

2= Thierry Henry and Robert Pires (Arsenal) – 29 goals

There have been few better sights in English football than watching Henry and Pires in full flow. During the best point of Arsene Wenger's reign at Arsenal, he had them playing utterly mesmeric football and this pair had all the flair in the world. Pires could dart past players with superb trickery so it's hardly a surprise to see that he and Henry were so good together.

Thierry Henry and Robert Pires

1. Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba (Chelsea) – 36 goals

This is a remarkable tally when you consider just how far ahead of anyone else they are. Drogba wasn't the most natural of goalscorers, especially when you compare him to Henry, Kane and Aguero, but Lampard scored so many himself that it feels only natural that the Chelsea pair take top spot. They were as dynamic as they come.

Lampard and Drogba

So there have it, a comprehensive list of the greatest duos in Premier League history. With the rate Kane and Son are going this season, it wouldn't be a surprise if we saw them achieve top spot by the end of the current campaign.
