There is no denying that he is one of the best to have ever graced the Octagon.

Khabib Nurmagomedov has gone on to defeat everyone that has ever stood in front of him so far and will look to extend his record to 29 victories when he takes on Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 on Saturday.

Those 28 current victories have been picked up against some of the very best challengers as well, with the likes of Conor McGregor and Al Iaquinta just some of the men he has managed to overcome when required to do so.

Gaethje could arguably provide the Russian with his hardest challenge to date as his wrestling skills make him a formidable opponent.

The American comes into the bout in good form following an impressive victory against Tony Ferguson; a contest in which he was a late replacement for the Eagle back in May.

Gaethje has managed to keep his opponents at length in his previous fights, as he has been able to utilise his footwork to an impressive standard, thus not having required to go to the mat.

Indeed, that might be a good tactic for him to try and take when going up against Khabib, as BT Sport have released a video of all of his UFC finishes to date and some are truly devastating.

The video starts by showing the 31-year-old's first match in which he went up against Kamal Shalorus in 2012 and once he positioned himself on top of his opponent, the Russian forced him to tap because of the rear-naked chokehold that he has perfected over the years.

The next clip is from his match with Thiago Tavares, in which he would win by planting some vicious elbows and some brutal punches to his opponent's head in their 2013 contest.

Darrell Horcher would suffer the same punishment in 2016 as Khabib managed to pin him down to the mat, whilst he would place the Kimura submission hold on Michael Johnson months later in a contest in which he would show respect to his opponent by checking on him following his victory.

Khabib Nurmagomedov Connor McGregor

Perhaps the most famous of finishes in Khabib's career to date, though, is when he made McGregor tap out to his neck crank in October 2018. The Eagle managed to overpower the Irishman and managed to get himself on McGregor's back, thus being able to apply the hold and forcing the tap out. This victory could be argued to have solidified his position as one of the very best, if not, the best.

The final clip from the impressive compilation is from the Russian's most recent fight, in which he managed to get Dustin Poirier to submit via the rear-naked chokehold.

Gaethje would have known that he would have his work cut out for him already, but he might want to take a look at this video as part of his training, otherwise, he could be on the next compilation that gets posted to YouTube...
