Manchester United will make their return to the Champions League on Tuesday afternoon.The Red Devils take on Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes in what will be an extremely tough game for United.And they will be without their captain, Harry Maguire.The England defender has not travelled with the squad after starring in United's 4-1 win over Newcastle on the weekend.Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Bruno Fernandes will take the armband in Maguire's place on Tuesday night."The captain sits next to me. Bruno will captain the team tomorrow," declared Solskjaer, per the Daily Mail."Bruno has definitely come in and had a great positive impact. That was a turning point in our season last season and we hope from more to come."The news came as a complete surprise to Fernandes, who clearly hadn't been informed of Solskjaer's decision prior to the press conference.His reaction was one of pure amazement when Solskjaer made the revelation.

Fernandes then admitted that he had no clue about being given the captaincy.

"I was not expecting this," he admitted. "I found out this the same time as you!

"It is an honour and an important achievement for me. The captain is everyone – everyone needs to help, be a leader in their way.

"I think I’m playing well in the last few months but I have to improve and do better. I think I can do much better than before. I know my numbers are good but I’m sure I will do better numbers and games than before."

United fans have been calling for Fernandes to get the armband for some time. They have finally got their wish - even if it is just on a temporary basis.
