Sony is continuing to show its public support to the Black Lives Matter movement by releasing a new BLM theme for the PlayStation 4.

It certainly is a simple but effective design with the black and gold lines running across the bottom of the screen. This leads into the yellow-outlined black fist with the words ‘Black Lives Matter’ on the opposite side.

The new static theme can be downloaded from the PlayStation store for free.

For those who don’t know already, the PlayStation 4 themes can be changed from the system’s settings menu. You can subsequently scroll down and choose a theme that you want to use. They can also be changed whenever you like.

Both Sony and PlayStation have previously shown their support for the movement in the past. PlayStation, for instance, postponed their PS5 event back in June as a show of solidarity.

While in May, Sony posted a tweet saying: “Being silent about the violence and racism Black people experience is being complicit. “We stand in solidarity today and every day with the black community. #BlackLivesMatter.”

The Japanese technology company continued to say: “But actions always speak louder than words. And we’re working hard to make sure that we at Sony are doing more than just stating we are allies.

“Right now, we want to use our platform to spread information and support.”

PlayStation, meanwhile, is all set to launch its new console the PlayStation 5 on November 12. In light of its imminent release, the company has revealed what the user interface looks like.

This will include a brand-new subscription only feature called 'Game Help' that will provide players with in-game hints.

The console will be available from around £300 in the UK for the Digital Edition and £400 for the standard edition.
