With the defender being excluded from Spurs' 25-man squad, it seems that agreeing a settlement to end his contract could be the best thing for all parties.
It would allow Rose the opportunity for a fresh start in his career.
Rose is certainly capable of performing at the highest level for a few years yet, and that means that there's likely to be no shortage of takers.
Clubs in the top flight and the Championship will be interested, while I'm sure that he will be an attractive proposition for clubs overseas as well.
Time will tell how this situation will be resolved, but I'm sure we'd all love to see Rose performing week in, week out again before too long.
