It's the question that's been keeping us awake at night for quite some time.

The world is dominated by choices that divide the masses: Facebook or Instagram, Indian or Chinese, Federer or Nadal and, from a footballing perspective, Messi or Ronaldo.

But with the original GOATs firmly in the twilight stages of their careers, there is a new question on everyone's lips: who is better, Haaland or Mbappe?

Fortunately for those who simply can't arrive at a logical conclusion, here at GIVEMESPORT our very own Tom Skinner has put that debate to rest with unequivocal conviction in his latest 'unpopular opinion' video.

Haaland, whose relentless knack for finding the net suggests he arrived on this planet from a far-away galaxy, is clearly the better player.

Sorry Kylian, Tom's just not that into you.

Here are five reasons why the Norwegian sensation is better than the French World Cup winner...

1. Haaland is developing faster

Erling Haaland

Mbappe was 19 during his first season with PSG, scoring 21 goals and providing 15 assists before he turned 20.

However, Haaland scored 40 goals and provided six assists with both RB Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund as a 19-year-old.

Quick maths: that's 10 more goal contributions for Haaland.

Mbappe who?

2. Haaland is more potent

During the 2019/20 season, Haaland found the net once every 63 minutes, but Mbappe only scored once every 91 minutes.

Mbappe

Before the "but Haaland was playing in a tin pot Austrian league" brigade send a pitchfork mob to GIVEMESPORT towers, it's pertinent to note that Haaland's goals per minute ratio actually improved by three minutes at Dortmund.

That's right, the Norwegian's potency improved following his step up to Bundesliga football.

3. Haaland is doing it in a better league

The Bundesliga is ranked the third best division in Europe by UEFA.

Ligue 1, by comparison, is down in 5th.

Haaland

But can Haaland do it on a cold, rainy night in Stuttgart?

You bet he can.

As for the Champions League, Mbappe scored five in ten appearances last season, while Haaland notched ten in just eight games, becoming the first teenager to reach double figures in a single Champions League campaign.

Mbappe also achieved double figures in the competition before turning 20, but he did it over two seasons.

4. Haaland is doing it in 'worse teams'

While playing for Norway, Haaland is relying on Fulham's Stefan Johansen for service but he's still managed six goals from seven international appearances.

Mbappe, the lucky sod, gets to link-up with Paul Pogba, Antoine Griezmann and, the magisterial prince himself, Olivier Giroud.

5. Haaland named seven strikers better than him

Haaland, Mr Humble himself, believes Cristiano Ronaldo, Robert Lewandowski, Sergio Aguero, Roberto Firmino, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Harry Kane and Timo Werner are all superior talents.

Mbappe not doing it for you, Erling?

Werner

The PSG superstar, however, has had the sheer audacity to claim he's better than Lionel Messi.

He obviously didn't get the memo that mere mortals cannot be compared to extraterrestrials - someone have a word.

And that just about concludes the Haaland vs Mbappe debate.

Shout out to Tom for clearing that up for us.
