West Ham United are hopeful of kicking on this season.
The last few campaigns have been disappointing for the east London club as they've struggled to progress in the manner that many supporters may have wanted.
But there's quiet optimism that this term could be different.
After narrowly avoiding relegation last season the club faced a difficult summer as they looked to refresh their playing squad.
That included freeing up cash for new signings who could take the club forward.
Selling the likes of Grady Diangana and Albian Ajeti were tough decisions to make, while allowing Felipe Anderson to head out on loan was also a difficult call.
But hopefully those moves have been justified by the incoming activity.
Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal joined the club early in the summer, before Craig Dawson arrived on a loan deal with a view to a permanent switch.
However it was the move for Said Benrahma that really got fans talking with the talented Brentford star arriving from the Championship club.
West Ham currently find themselves in the top half of the table, but they'll certainly be looking to tie up some more bargain deals to take them forward.
One player being discussed is Danny Rose.
The Tottenham star is all but certainly to leave north London after being left out of the club's 25-man squad.
Speculation has suggested that he could have his contract terminated, something that Frank McAvennie believes should be a situation that West Ham monitor very closely.
Speaking to Football Insider, McAvennie said: “I thought he was going to join Newcastle this summer.
“He did well there. He was a top player at Tottenham but he seems to have fallen away recently.
“A fantastic player on his day and he is not that old yet. I do not know if he would go to West Ham but I always say it is good to have somebody pushing you.
“Cresswell is doing well at the moment but the team is doing well. He needs some competition to push him and Rose could do that.
“I would not be too disappointed if West Ham signed him but I do not know if he would join another London club. It is one of them.
“When I was at West Ham and did not go to Arsenal, I supported West Ham so I could not do that to the fans. There was no way I could go to Tottenham either but I do not know if players are like that now.”

This would be a fascinating deal.
Danny Rose is a top quality left-back who would undoubtedly improve the calibre of West Ham's side.
Of course there's a small rivalry to factor in.
Supporters in east London are unlikely to immediately warm to a player that has just left their rivals Tottenham.
Whether that feeling can be put to one side remains to be seen, but it could be a real obstacle in such a move materialising.
