Rangers fans have a lot to shout about this season. Steven Gerrard's side are currently top of the Scottish Premiership, with nine wins and two draws from their first 11 games. If that wasn't enough, The 'Gers also convincingly won the first Old Firm derby of the campaign, beating Celtic 2-0 at Celtic Park. So, what could make their season even better? Oh yes, a run in the Europa League. And on Wednesday night, Rangers made the perfect start. They faced a tough test away at Standard Liege but came through it with a 2-0 victory. James Tavernier got the first goal from the penalty spot after 20 minutes and the visitors had to wait until the 92nd-minute for their second. But boy was it worth the wait. Rangers won their opening EL gameKemar Roofe danced past three Liege players before smashing the ball towards goal... from inside his own half.Incredibly, it flew over the head of the goalkeeper and into the net. Yes, Roofe scored FROM HIS OWN HALF. Check it out below:

Absolutely unbelievable. What a goal. You don't see that every day.

Take a bow, Kemar Roofe!

What a start Rangers have made to their Europa League campaign.

Things got tasty in the Europa League

Those were three much-needed points as well, considering Benfica also made a winning start to the tournament.

Those two sides, as well as Liege and Lech Poznan, are competing in Group D.

Benfica and Rangers were made the favourites to progress when the draw was made, so Gerrard will be very happy to get three points on the board in the first game.

Gerrard will be happy with his side's win

Next up they face Livingston in the Scottish Premiership, hoping to extend their lead at the top, before playing Poznan in their second Europa League fixture in seven days time.
