Tottenham are set to reward Son Heung-Min’s scintillating form.

The South Korea international has started the season on fire and appears set to sign a new contract in north London.

The Daily Telegraph has reported that chairman Daniel Levy will prioritise handing him a new deal as they look to secure their best players for the foreseeable future.

Son has scored seven goals in five Premier League games, while also laying on two assists, including an astonishing four-goal haul in the 5-2 win over Southampton.

Spurs have been in high-scoring form, netting five versus the Saints, six against Manchester United and three at the weekend against West Ham United.

And former Premier League manager Alex McLeish has hailed the incredible form of the 28-year-old, who appears to be approaching his peak.

Speaking to Football Insider, he said: “Undoubtedly a wonderful player. He seems to be a lovely person as well, from what I’ve heard.

“I think he’s one of those guys that’s very humble in the dressing room and you won’t have a lot of problems. Although I heard there was a wee bust-up a few weeks ago in the tunnel (with Hugo Lloris) – that seemed out of character.

“All my Spurs pals will be looking for Son to sign on the dotted line immediately.

“Just to see some of the goals he has scored and his speed and movement, it’s tremendous, the goals against West Ham, his acceleration, his finish – brilliant.”

GIVEMESPORT’S Harry Sherlock says…

It is no exaggeration to say that Son might be one of the best players in the world at this point in time.

He can do pretty much everything, from passing and moving, to beating defenders, to putting the ball in the back of the net.

The attacker has been in north London since 2015 but he is now exploding as a genuinely world class force.

His link-up with Harry Kane is near-telepathic and one feels that his new contract has to reward his superb form.

Reports claim that the deal could bring him in line with the club’s highest earners and that is absolutely necessary after his start to the campaign.
