Manchester United are facing a big few weeks in their season.

After finishing third in the Premier League last season the hope was that the club could really kick on this term and challenge Liverpool and Manchester City for the title.

United completed summer deals for the likes of Donny van de Beek, Alex Telles, Amad Diallo, Facundo Pellistri and Edinson Cavani who arrived on international deadline day.

But these deals have been met with a mixed reaction, with many suggesting that the club should have done better.

That has seemingly had an impact on the club's start to the season, with Ole Gunnar Solksjaer's side sitting in 15th place in the table after four games.

Of course it's early days, but the hope has to be on improving results in the coming days and weeks.

Next up for United is a clash with Chelsea - a game which will give a huge indication as to where the club will finish this term.

With a positive result essential in this one, it seems that the Red Devils have been handed a timely boost with three key players available for the clash.

This includes Harry Maguire and Mason Greenwood who have been passed fit for the clash, as well as Edinson Cavani who is eligible after a period of self-isolation.

Quoted by the Manchester Evening News, Solskjaer said: "I hope and expect all three of them to be available for selection.

"Of course, we've got a training session this morning but they've all got a chance, all of them.

"There are different reasons: Edinson wants to tick all the boxes that he's gone through in his programme to be ready and make an impact.

"His last preparation is going to be today and then I will have a discussion. Yesterday seemed positive with Mason and Harry."

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

This is a huge boost for Manchester United.

The weekend's clash with Chelsea is a huge game in the context of the season - especially when you consider that they'll both be competing for a place in the top four.

United haven't made the best start to the season, but there's no better time to kickstart things.

Three points against Frank Lampard's side would be a major confidence boost as they look to the coming weeks.

They might be in 15th place right now but a victory could send them flying up the table, something that would be well-received by supporters.
