Newcastle United have endured a mixed start to the new campaign.
Preparations for the campaign hardly got off to the best start when talk of a potential takeover dominated the hearts and minds of those on Tyneside.
Unfortunately that £300million deal didn't quite materialise leaving supporters angry and frustrated.
The Magpies were able to make some key additions to the playing squad, however, with Mark Gillespie, Jeff Hendrick, Callum Wilson, Jamal Lewis and Ryan Fraser all moving to St James' Park.
After a campaign in which they avoided relegation with several matches to spare, the hope is that they can push towards the top half of the table this time around.
As far as this term is concerned Steve Bruce's side have made a reasonable start having picked up seven points from five games.
That run has put Newcastle into 13th position in the table - a spot that they'll be looking to improve upon in the coming weeks.
This week the Magpies are facing Wolves - a clash which will be a real acid test of where they're likely to finish in the Premier League.
It looks like the club would have to take on this challenge without their goalkeeper, but a fresh update has given hope to Bruce and his squad.
The Chronicle have claimed that Karl Darlow could be fit for the clash with Nuno Espirito Santo's side.
Darlow, who is already replacing regular number one Martin Dubravka, suffered a nasty looking injury in a collision with Manchester United's Marcus Rashford last week.
It seemed that the stopper would be ruled out for this weekend's game, however according to Bruce he may yet be fit enough to start.
Bruce said: "He's still sore.
"As you can imagine but he has made a huge improvement. We will go down to the wire and see how he is.
"Thankfully it is impact and there is no tear. He has taken an awful knock.
"He is better than he was. Whether he will be fit we will see over the next 48 hours."

This could be a real boost for Newcastle United.
It's already a big blow that the club are without Martin Dubravka, but to lose Karl Darlow as well is awful luck.
Thankfully it seems that he's not too far from a return.
While a late judgement looks like it'll be made, Bruce will be keen to play Darlow against Wolves as he looks to get back to winning ways.
Whether they can do that against Nuno Espirito Santo's side, however, remains to be seen.
