Tonight, the biggest UFC fight of the year takes place on Yas Island. The irrepressible Khabib Nurmagomedov will meet Justin Gaethje in the Octagon as the pair battle for supremacy of the lightweight division.Khabib has not fought under the franchise since last September, when he defeated Dustin Poirier at UFC 242 to defend and retain his lightweight championship.Since then, Gaethje has been on an upward trajectory and he is the interim champ going into tonight's bout after beating Tony Ferguson back in May.It promises to be an incredible main event tonight on 'Fight Island' and it's hard to pick a clear favourite between Khabib and Gaethje.

The often controversial Conor McGregor has now had his say on who he believes will emerge victorious, stating that the fight could be over early if Khabib takes it to the floor.

However, the Notorious still managed to take a swipe at his Russian nemesis, claiming that he'll be "trembling in there".

"He's going to be on the back foot from the bell," McGregor said.

"Khabib's gonna be trembling in there - like he always does. He's the most easily backed-up fighter in the game. Gaethje will know this and he'll get low in his stance.

"Gaethje's style is a style for getting in and beating that jab nice and low, and while Khabib's head is up high come in with a big shot and he can very well knock him out. He can very, very, very, very well knock him clean out.

"[Gaethje's] got good wrestling. Does he have grappling with his wrestling? I do not believe so. I believe if Khabib gets him down it could be over early [...]. I probably favour Khabib [...]."

Despite initially firing shots at Khabib, McGregor is backing the Russian MMA expert to do the business in Abu Dhabi.

After all, the Notorious knows first-hand just how deadly Khabib's wrestling skills are...
