Isco's time at Real Madrid looks like it's coming to an end.
The Spanish midfielder has been a great servant to the club, having made 311 appearances after joining in 2013.
But he has fallen out of favour with Zinedine Zidane.
Isco struggled for game time after the restart from lockdown last season, completing 90 minutes just once.
And he's failed to play more than 56 minutes in his four outings so far this campaign.
The 28-year-old was on the bench once again in Real Madrid's clash against fierce rivals Barcelona on the weekend. He was an unused substitute as Los Blancos ran out 3-1 winners.
Isco would have been disappointed not to get on, and cameras before the game showed he is very frustrated with his role at the moment.
The Spaniard was caught complaining about Zidane's usage of him.
“If he has to take me off, he takes me off in the 50th or 60th minute of the game. Sometimes even at half-time,” Isco said, as per footage from Movistar.
“If he has to put me on, he’ll do it in the 80th minute.”
It's such a shame that Isco's Real Madrid career is ending this way.
He was, and still is, an extremely talented player but Zidane obviously thinks he doesn't fit his team's style of play.
It appears it's time for the Spaniard to move on and he has been encouraged to do so by Rivaldo.
"Isco has had great days at the club and was an important member of the squad for a lot of time, but it's not happening for him at the Bernabeu any longer, so he might look to James Rodriguez's situation as a good example of how to successfully move on," Rivaldo wrote in his Betfair column this week, per Marca.
"The Colombian attacker is shooting the lights out in England with Everton and I wouldn't be surprised if Isco decided to make a similar move in the near future.
"Isco is watching James and knows he's very happy with his decision of leaving Real Madrid for a club where he had the chance to be a regular starter and finally get back to his best form.
"Isco may consider something similar if he keeps being overlooked by Zidane."
