A documentary about Mike Tyson is coming to Netflix, in which the boxer laments on the mistakes he's made throughout his career and equates happiness to death.
Ahead of his exhibition match with Roy Jones Jr, which will be Tyson's first fight since 2005, Iron Mike has been training with coach Rafael Cordeiro.
And during filming for the upcoming Netflix documentary, as per the Daily Star, Tyson's trainer asked what happiness meant to the Baddest Man on the Planet.
"Happiness for me is death, because I saw many bad things and lost many bad things in my life," replied the former heavyweight champion of the world.
Tyson's journey has been littered with difficulty, some by his own doing and some a cruel twist of fate.
By the age of 16, he was without both his parents, then was imprisoned for the rape of beauty pageant contestant Desiree Washington in 1992, six years after he became world champion.
A ban in 1997 for biting Evander Holyfield's ear was followed by a second stint in prison in 1999 for assault, before he filed for bankruptcy in 2003, having wasted his $330 million fortune.
This isn't the first time Tyson has spoken of his acceptance of death.
Speaking to The Sportsman earlier this year, Tyson said: "From my experience, from what I believe, the more I know about not existing, the more willing I am to die.
"Living is a journey. Living is a struggle. People have everything and they still can’t do it, they struggle.
"Our life prepares us for our death. We still don’t know sh*t about it, but when we get to a certain age, we’re not scared of dying no more, like it was when we were young. … Yeah. I don’t fear it.
"I knew there was a possibility that I could die during training, during a fight. I knew that. But I wasn’t scared, because I thought if anybody was going to die, I would do the killing."
Tyson will face Jones on November 28, his first fight in 15 years. The last time he took to the ring saw defeat at the hands of Irishman Kevin McBride, when Tyson quit before the seventh round.
There are thoughts that Tyson's return against Jones could mark a trio of fights, with one rumoured opponent to be Buster Douglas, who surprisingly beat Tyson in 1990 to take the WBA, WBC and IBF belts.
