The Dutch forward have long been touted with a move to the Premier League, and after a disappointing spell with Schalke 04, his future appears to be away from the Bundesliga.

And the 27-year-old's agent has added fuel to the fire by saying a move to Tottenham Hotspur could be on the cards.

“There is always a possible move in football. Every year I hear something about Tottenham Hotspur but he never moves to England.” Arnold Oosterveer told


“He is at his third club now in two years, he was injured for a long time, and he has a three year contract at Schalke. What can I say about it? He would normally stay at Schalke.

Tottenham are expected to be wanting to re-enforce their attacking options with Roman Pavlyuchenko and Robbie Keane both expected to leave the club.

As well as those expected departures, the club are expected to be spending big money this summer to try to build a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title.

After defeating Inter Milan and AC Milan in the Champions League, Tottenham were thumped by Real Madrid in the quarter-final.
