Liverpool’s defence of the Premier League title hasn’t quite gone to plan so far.Okay, they’re level on points with Everton at the top of the table and have won the opening match of the Champions League campaign. But they haven’t had it all their own way.They’re still smarting from their 7-2 humiliation against Aston Villa, while they’re no doubt still angry about the controversial 2-2 draw in the Merseyside Derby against Everton where they lost Virgil van Dijk for the remainder of the campaign.Several VAR decisions haven’t gone their way and that was the case once again on Saturday night. Sheffield United were awarded a penalty for a tackle by Fabinho on Oli McBurnie - a tackle that not only appeared to be a fair one but one that occurred outside the box.Nevertheless, the away side were awarded a spot-kick and took an early lead at Anfield.But Liverpool did turn it around to earn all three points, mainly thanks to Sadio Mane. It was his header that was parried by Aaron Ramsdale only for Roberto Firmino to equalise. Then, in the second half, Mane’s brilliance on the left wing saw him cross the ball for Diogo Jota to put Liverpool 2-1 ahead.
However, the Senegalese may have left the pitch a little unhappy because he didn’t get himself on the scoresheet. Although he would have done if Mohamed Salah had squared the ball to him when he hit the post in the second half.It was an incident that BBC Sport pundit, Garth Crooks, pointed out when naming Mane in his Team of the Week. He warned Salah of his selfish nature, suggesting Mane could get fed up and leave the club if it continues."Mane had a header saved which rebounded for Robert Firmino to score the equaliser against Sheffield United," he wrote on BBC Sport.

It’s something we’ve seen numerous times before with Salah opting to go for goal instead of passing to Mane.
It came to a head last season during a 3-0 away win against Burnley as Mane lost his head at Salah after the Egyptian failed to pass him the ball. Following his substitution, Mane went mad and had to be calmed down by James Milner.
Liverpool have enough things going wrong this season for another flare-up between their two star players.
