Randy Orton became a 14-time world champion at Hell in a Cell on Sunday night.

He beat Drew McIntyre to capture the WWE Championship inside the demonic structure and the result was one that shocked many.

'The Scottish Psychopath' carried the gold - and the company - for seven months after beating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania.

During his run, he successfully defended against Andrade, Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley, Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode and Orton twice before dropping the belt on Sunday.

McIntyre was WWE's first British world champion and his first reign was rated very highly by fans and fellow superstars.

Speaking after Hell in a Cell, fellow Brit Danny Burch has reacted to Drew losing the WWE Championship.

The NXT Tag Team Champion believes McIntyre had a 'phenomenal' reign and suggests he shouldn't be too disappointed losing someone like Orton.

McIntyre had an impressive run as WWE Champion

"Drew is absolutely phenomenal. For the time period that he was champion, he held that title with so much pride and so much prestige," Burch told GIVEMESPORT.

"To lose it to - in my opinion - the best wrestler in the world at this point in time, Randy Orton, you can't look at that and go 'oh man, I lost'.

Randy Orton beat him. Drew didn't lose to a complete and utter nobody. Randy's a 14-time world champion. It's rough to lose, but at the end of the day, he lost to Randy Orton.

Orton won the belt at HIAC

"Knowing Drew, he'll come back bigger and better. He's got a Claymore with Randy Orton's name on it.

"This is just the start for Drew, 100%."

We've got to agree with you there, Danny. McIntyre's first reigns as WWE Champion may have come to an end. But it will be the first of many.
