Welcome to the second instalment of GIVEMESPORT's Brits Abroad feature.

Once again we've tracked the progress of the 19 British players who are plying their trade in the Bundesliga, Serie A, La Liga and Ligue 1 and documented their recent exploits below.

Just because we like making your lives easier, we'll be publishing this article at the same time - 2pm - on Wednesday each week, so you don't have to spend ages trawling the internet for nuggets of information on how our British exports are faring on the continent.

We'll do the hard work so you don't have to. I know, we're good like that. Don't sweat it, we've always got your back.

How did the British contingent get on in the past seven days then, both domestically and in Europe?

Let's take a look...

Bundesliga:

Reece Oxford - Augsburg

Oxford

For the second week in a row Reece Oxford was an unused substitute in the Bundesliga.

Augsburg once again went down to superior opposition as they suffered a 3-1 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen.

That Tobias Strobl, a fellow defensive midfielder, was sent into the fray after 74 minutes suggests Oxford is low down the pecking order at this moment in time.

Ryan Sessegnon - Hoffenheim

Ryan Sessegnon

It was a week of progress for Ryan Sessegnon in Germany.

Having already made his first appearance, the 20-year-old went one step further this week by making his first start during Hoffenheim's 2-0 Europa League win over Red Star Belgrade.

Though it was the quality of Sessegnon's attacking play that caught the eye at Fulham, he played a more reserved role at left-back last week.

Hoffenheim manager Sebastian Hoeneß was impressed by the quality on show during the Spurs loanee's full debut: "Sessegnon had a solid debut. He hasn't trained much with the team so I'm very satisfied."

A solid midweek display wasn't enough to earn him a first Bundesliga start against Werder Bremen on Sunday, but he did come off the substitutes bench to replace Robert Skov for the final four minutes of regulation time.

And Sessegnon did return to the starting XI for Hoffenhiem's 4-1 win over RAA Gent in Thursday night's Europa League clash.

Jadon Sancho - Borussia Dortmund

Jadon Sancho

Jadon Sancho is still yet to get off the mark in the Bundesliga but he did add to his assist tally during Dortmund's 3-0 win over Schalke on Saturday.

The infectious attacking midfielder slotted in Erling Haaland down the right channel, and the Norwegian finished the opportunity with the conviction of a cold-blooded killer, lofting the ball beyond the onrushing goalkeeper with his weaker right foot - a moment of brilliance that will have pleased manager Lucien Favre.

And the England international went one better in the Champions League this week, scoring Dortmund's opener from the penalty spot against Zenit St. Petersburg. With the score tied at 0-0 in the 78th minute, Sancho held his nerve and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way with a composed spot kick.

Jude Bellingham - Borussia Dortmund

Bellingham

Having played a part in all four of Dortmund's opening Bundesliga fixtures, Jude Bellingham was left as an unused substitute for the first time since joining the club.

Bellingham was once again on the bench for the trip to Zenit but, having come on as an 84th minute substitute, his deft header provided the assist for Erling Haaland to double the visitors' advantage late on.

Away from the pitch, Bellingham opened up to the German media and conducted his first major interview with Kicker, which is available to read in print.

Clinton Mola - Stuttgart

Mola

No update on Clinton Mola's progress this week.

He remains sidelined with a hip problem.

Jamal Musiala - Bayern Munich

Musiala

There's a real talent emerging here and in the years to come Chelsea fans are bound to be left seething by his Stamford Bridge departure.

Jamal Musiala's Bundesliga appearances have come exclusively from the substitutes bench so far this season, but the somewhat gangly attacking midfielder doesn't need long to leave a marked impression on proceedings.

Bayern Munich were coasting with a 4-0 lead when Musiala replaced Kingsley Coman in the 73rd minute, and the English youngster certainly enjoyed himself in the closing stages.

Kevin Trapp denied the 17-year-old with an outstretched arm in the 88th minute, but Musiala eventually bagged his second goal of the season in the 90th minute by capping off a sweeping move involving Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sane and Leon Goretzka.

Despite his Bundesliga strike, he was an unused substitute in Bayern's 2-1 win away at Lokomotiv Moscow in midweek.

This is already shaping up to be a real breakthrough season for the former Southampton and Chelsea youngster.

Rabbi Matondo - Schalke

Rabbi Matondo

Rabbi Matondo returned to the starting XI to face Dortmund on Saturday following a three game absence in which he failed to play a single minute of football.

It was a difficult encounter for the visitors, who had just 43% of possession, but Matondo still showcased tenacity and creativity in attack by completing two key passes.

With only a solitary point on the board so far this season, Schalke now sit in 17th place after five games.

It's shaping up to be a long season for the Gelsenkirchen based outfit.

Does Matondo have what it takes to dig them out a hole?

Serie A:

Chris Smalling - Roma

Smalling

AS Roma played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with AC Milan on Monday evening but Chris Smalling had no part to play.

The former Man United defender did make his second debut for the club on Thursday night though, starting in a back-three during a 0-0 draw with CSKA Sofia.

Smalling was withdrawn after 57 minutes as he bids to work his way back to full match fitness.

Ronaldo Vieira - Hellas Verona

Ronaldo Vieira

Ronaldo Vieira played 90 Serie A minutes for the second consecutive week as Hellas Verona clinched an unlikely point away at Juventus.

The 22-year-old loanee struggled to make a major impact on the game from either a defensive or attacking perspective, but the underdog visitors achieved their result through the sheer grit and tactical pragmatism of the collective.

Hellas Verona's third round clash against Serie B outfit Venezia on Wednesday afternoon looks far more conducive to a standout individual display from Vieira.

Ashley Young - Inter Milan

Ashley Young

Ashley Young, who tested positive for coronavirus earlier this month, was once again absent from the Inter Milan squad that faced Bologna last weekend.

However, he returned to the starting XI to face Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

The 35-year-old veteran was solid at left-wing-back, completing two tackles, while his return of one key pass and two successful dribbles shows he was a threat in the final-third.

Aaron Hickey - Bologna

Aaron Hickey

Aaron Hickey made his fourth straight start for Bologna on Saturday in a 2-1 defeat away at Lazio.

The Scottish prodigy was reliable in possession of the ball, completing 95.7% of his passes - including two key passes - and was typically astute in defence.

With Bologna flirting with the relegation places, sitting in 17th after five matches, it looks set to be a baptism of fire for Hickey in Serie A this season.

Aaron Ramsey - Juventus

Ramsey

Andrea Pirlo's faith in Aaron Ramsey has been detectable in the early stages of his Juventus reign and his weekend selection once again pointed to his admiration for the Wales international.

Ramsey started against Hellas Verona following an impressive individual performance against Dynamo Kiev in midweek, but he struggled for fluidity and recorded six unsuccessful touches in the Serie A clash - more than any other Juventus player.

It was a display that ended up costing him his place in the side in midweek, with Ramsey an unused substitute in Juventus' 2-0 Champions League defeat against Barcelona.

Ligue 1:

Jonathan Panzo - Dijon

Panzo

A daunting trip to Paris Saint-Germain was always going to be tough for Jonathan Panzo.

The relatively inexperienced central defender faced up against arguably the most varied and cutting-edge attack in France, and it didn't take long for the hosts to make the breakthrough.

Everton loanee Moise Kean scored after just three minutes and that set the tone for a thumping 4-0 win courtesy of a pair of braces from Kean and Kylian Mbappe.

Another sorry afternoon for Panzo at the heart of a defensive unit that have conceded 18 goals from eight games this season, leaving Dijon rock bottom of the Ligue 1 table and still without a win.

Trevoh Chalobah - Lorient

Chalobah

Trevoh Chalobah started his second consecutive Ligue 1 game for Lorient and played 90 minutes for the first time since signing for the club.

The combative midfielder won five aerial duels and completed five interceptions in a valiant display, but he couldn't prevent his side from suffering a 1-0 defeat against Marseille.

All the signs are there to suggest that this could be a breakthrough season for the Chelsea loanee.

Stephy Mavididi - Montpellier

Mavididi

Stephy Mavididi's lethal finish against Monaco last week didn't earn him his first Ligue 1 start against Stade Reims.

The 22-year-old had to be content with another cameo appearance from the bench during a humiliating 4-0 home defeat.

His opportunity to impress from the outset surely cannot be too far away.

Mohamed- Ali Cho - Angers

Mohamed-Ali Cho

Mohamed Ali-Cho was once again an unused substitute in Angers' 2-1 win away at Stade Rennais.

At just 16 years of age it's no surprise that he is being eased into the first-team gradually.

Fraser Hornby - Stade Reims

Hornby

Expectation and optimism defined Fraser Hornby's move to Stade Reims in the summer window, but the towering Scottish forward's struggle in France continued at the weekend.

Hornby was omitted from the squad for the third consecutive league game as the Ligue 1 outfit hammered Montpellier away from home.

There's plenty of work to be done for the former Everton trainee, but he has the quality to overcome this early career hurdle.

La Liga:

Kieran Trippier - Atletico Madrid

Trippier

Diego Simeone's influence on Kieran Trippier manifested once again last weekend during Atletico Madrid's 2-0 win over Real Betis.

The England international was a rock at full-back, completing four tackles, two interceptions and winning three aerial duels.

And Trippier was at it again with another determined display in Atletico's dramatic 3-2 win over RB Salzburg on Tuesday night, earning a match rating of 7.43 having recorded three key passes, two dribbles, four interceptions and one tackle.

Yunus Musah - Valencia

Musah

Yunus Musah's heavy involvement at Valencia this season may well be a reflection on the state of a club in turmoil rather than a premeditated promotion of youth, but that doesn't make his rise to prominence any less impressive.

The 17-year-old made his fifth La Liga start of the season in a 2-1 defeat against Elche and almost earned his first goal contribution of the campaign with a wicked delivery, but Jose Gaya's header was saved by Edgar Badia.

It's early days for the former Arsenal prodigy but the exposure he's receiving could serve as a game changing catalyst for his long-term development.
