Barcelona sealed a confidence-boosting 2-0 win over Juventus at the Allianz Stadium in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Ronald Koeman’s men bounced back from last weekend’s 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid with victory in Turin.

Ousmane Dembele’s first-half goal - set up by an excellent Lionel Messi cross-field pass - and a late Messi penalty earned all three points for Barça.

Cristiano Ronaldo missed the match as he continues his recovery from Covid-19, which meant Alvaro Morata led the Juve line.

But the former Real Madrid striker ended up enduring a nightmare 90 minutes.

Remarkably, Morata had three goals disallowed: two in the first half and one in the second.

Has that ever happened in the Champions League before?

On all three occasions, however, it seems the correct call was made.

Morata was offside in all three instances.

As many football fans pointed out on social media: you can’t spell Alvaro without VAR.

Let’s check out some of the best reaction from social media…

Barcelona added gloss to their scoreline thanks to Messi's late penalty.

But Juve - and Morata, in particular - will wonder how they failed to lose the game.
