Marcus Rashford, MBE can do no wrong right now. The 22-year-old has grown used to being on the newspaper's front pages as well as the back this season thanks to his incredible campaigning efforts against child food poverty. On Wednesday, he was back in the day job lighting up Old Trafford. It came as a surprise to many to see him start on the bench against RB Leipzig, though his replacement Mason Greenwood impressed and opened the scoring. Julian Nagelsmann's side rarely threatened, but it wasn't until Rashford came on that Manchester United truly put them to the sword.

The forward scored his first ever United hat-trick - with all the goals coming inside a 15-minute spell.

Anthony Martial also scored a penalty late on.

But it was Rashford who will earn all the plaudits for his latest phenomenal achievement.

Having only come on in the 63rd minute, that makes his treble the fastest by a substitute in the history of the Champions League.

The record was set by Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe in October 2019, when his side beat Club Brugge 5-0.

Mbappe had come on in the 52nd minute, so Rashford beat his exploits by a whole 11 minutes.

He also became the first Red Devils player to score a hat-trick off the bench since - guess who? - Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in February 1999.

Not only is he a national treasure, he's creating history on the pitch right now too.
