Randy Orton is a 14-time world champion.

The Viper beat Drew McIntyre at Hell in a Cell on Sunday night to capture the WWE Championship.

It was a brutal, violent battle, one which lasted over half an hour and saw the pair brawl inside and outside the ring.

The match reached a climax when they scaled the cell to fight on top of it, leading to McIntyre taking a fall through the announce table.

With his opponent stunned, Orton slithered back into the ring and hit the RKO, which was enough to secure pinfall victory.

It was a result that shocked fans - and even reportedly left some members of the WWE roster 'confused' backstage.

So what's coming next for Orton?

Orton is now WWE Champion

Well, his attention will immediately turn to Survivor Series, where he'll face Roman Reigns in a champion vs champion match.

That's going to be a huge bout and according to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, The Viper will have a solid run with the WWE title once next month's PPV is out of the way.

According to WOR, the current plan is for Orton to hold onto the belt until next year’s WrestleMania 37 at least.

Orton will be at WrestleMania

Currently, he's pencilled in to defend the WWE Championship against Edge on the grandest stage of them all.

That would be one hell of a way to end their incredible feud.

Orton and Edge were involved in a storyline between January and June of this year before the Rated-R Superstar suffered a serious injury at Backlash.

Orton and Edge will meet again at WM

He's expected to return in 2021 and as of now, will be thrown straight into the title picture - and that would be absolutely massive.

Who The Viper faces between now and next April though, is still anyone's guess. McIntyre could get a re-match for the title, while 'The Fiend' has also been teased as Orton's next opponent.
