Everton news: Real Madrid star wants re-join forces with James Rodriguez & Carlo Ancelotti

James Rodriguez has thrived under Carlo Ancelotti in 2020/21

Carlo Ancelotti's Everton are flying high in 2020/21.

Despite losing their first game of the Premier League season at Southampton last weekend, the Toffees are top of the English top-tier after six game weeks.

Ancelotti is working his magic at Goodison Park and the arrival of Colombian superstar James Rodriguez from Real Madrid has galvanised the team.

The 2014 World Cup hero has scored three goals and notched as many assists in his six Premier League appearances, a mighty impressive return for a player many believed would struggle on English shores.

Rodriguez's worldwide following has helped enhance Everton as a brand and it seems he's also helping the club attract the attention of other star names.

Rodriguez celebrates

As reported by the Mirror, Real Madrid's Isco is keen on a move to Merseyside to rejoin forces with his ol' Colombian pal.

Zinedine Zidane has informed the Los Blancos hierarchy that Isco is not part of his plans moving forward and they will look to loan him out in January as a result.

The Spaniard will then be free to move on a permanent basis next summer and it's believed he will cost around £18m.

Despite the fact the 28-year-old has had minimal game time in 2020, that price tag still screams 'bargain' - especially given the fact he's valued at £27m on Transfermarkt.

Rodriguez & Isco

On his day, Isco is one of the best playmakers in world football. The prospect of him and Rodriguez toying with Premier League defenders and then feeding Richarlison or Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a hugely exciting one.

The former Malaga man's best season in a Real Madrid shirt came in 2016/17, when he scored 10 goals and contributed with eight assists in his 30 La Liga appearances.

If he could rediscover that form at Everton alongside Rodriguez, the Toffees would be in the hunt for Champions League football - or maybe even title challengers...
