Barcelona's newest superstar is officially 18 today.

Ansu Fati has been the talk of the town in Catalonia this season and Cules believe they've finally found the heir to Lionel Messi's throne.

The Spanish international has scored four goals in his first five La Liga games in 2020/21, including Barca's only goal in last weekend's 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in El Clasico.

As a result, Fati is now the joint most valuable teenage footballer in the world, but is he the BEST player aged 19 or younger?

Well, you're about to find out. Below we've ranked the 18 most valuable teenagers on the planet by how good we believe they are - so we apologise in advance for some controversial calls.

Fati in action

All values sourced from Transfermarkt.

18. Fabio Silva (Wolves) - €25.00m

The man heralded as the 'next Cristiano Ronaldo' made just 12 league appearances for FC Porto, scoring one goal. With Wolves, Silva is yet to start a game and that's why he's rock-bottom of this list.

17. Rayan Cherki (Lyon) - €25.00m

The latest young star to breakthrough at Lyon. Cherki is a hugely exciting talent, but the attacking midfielder is yet to score or assist in his 12 Ligue 1 appearances. He has featured for the club twice in the Champions League, so he just edges ahead of Silva.

16. Gabriel Veron (Palmeiras) - €25.00m

The elegant Brazilian right-winger has played just 20 times for Palmeiras' senior team thus far. However, he's scored six goals during that time, which is why he's just above Silva and Cherki.

15. Rayan Ait Nouri (Wolves) - €20.00m

The 18-year-old Algerian left-back scored on his Premier League debut last night in Wolves' 2-0 win over Crystal Palace. He's a serious talent, but the French U21 international still has a lot to prove.

14. Reinier Jesus (Borussia Dortmund) - €22.50m

We're still waiting for Real Madrid's next Brazilian star to make an impact during his loan spell at Dortmund. Reinier has played six times for the Selecao's U23 side and scored six goals in 14 games during Flamengo's 2019 league season.

13. William Saliba (Arsenal) - €22.50m

Saliba's reputation from his days with Saint-Etienne is why he sits 13th here. The teenager, nicknamed the 'Kylian Mbappe of defenders', is yet to start a competitive game for Arsenal, but if he fulfils his potential, he'll dominate Premier League strikers for fun.

12. Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund) - €27.00m

Bellingham opted to follow Jadon Sancho to Dortmund this summer and it's a move that's already paying dividends. The 17-year-old, who many believe is the 'next Patrick Vieira', has played eight times for the German club this season, scoring on his DFB-Pokal debut.

11. Rodrygo Goes (Real Madrid) - €45.00m

We were initially going for Bellingham ahead of Rodrygo. However, the Brazilian's performances last season, which saw him score nine goals and notch three assists in 29 games, simply could not be ignored. He needs to start rediscovering that kind of form soon, though.

10. Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal) - €25.00m

Martinelli enjoyed a breakthrough season with Arsenal in 2019/20, which was then sadly cut short by injury. However, the Brazilian sensation did more than enough to prove he's destined for the very top, with many likening his playing style to that of the legendary Ronaldo Nazario.

9. Benoit Badiashile (AS Monaco) - €25.00m

Already a key man for Monaco at the back, Badiashile has been rigorously linked with a move to Manchester United over the past 12 months or so. He has 44 appearances and three goals in Ligue 1 under his belt at the age of 19, pretty impressive.

8. Takefusa Kubo (Villarreal) - €30.00m

Kubo's yet to make an impact at Real Madrid, but he smashed it on loan at Mallorca in 2019/20. The Japanese international scored four goals and registered five assists in 38 La Liga appearances last season and has already contributed to three goals (1 goal, 2 assists) in Villarreal's Europa League campaign in 2020/21.

7. Callum Hudson-Odoi (Chelsea) - €35.00m

The Chelsea academy product is still yet to find consistency in the club's senior team, but we've still seen more than enough from him to warrant an inclusion in our top 10. Hudson-Odoi has played 68 times for the Blues in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and notching 11 assists.

6. Wesley Fofana (Leicester) - €22.50m

The Foxes spent around £40m to sign the Frenchman from Saint-Etienne and he already looks worth every single penny. Fofana was impregnable during the 1-0 win away at Arsenal last weekend and an elite club will probably splash £80m+ on him in a couple of years time.

5. Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) - €40.00m

Already one of Arsenal's most important players and their best creator, Saka is firmly on the road to being one of the world's very best. The guy can also play in multiple different positions to a high standard, which will come in very handy for both the Gunners and England.

4. Mason Greenwood (Manchester United) - €50.00m

Greenwood has already been tipped as a future Ballon d'Or winner and it's easy to see why. He's scored 19 goals in his first 58 appearances for United and the only reason the 19-year-old wonder-kid doesn't make the top three is the fact he's yet to make an impact on the international stage.

3. Ansu Fati (Barcelona) - €80.00m

Fati only third?! We know, but when you see the top two you'll understand. The 18-year-old has scored 13 goals in 40 games at club level and he's already played four times for the Spanish national side, scoring once and contributing with an assist, both coming in a 4-0 win over Ukraine.

2. Eduardo Camavinga (Rennes) - €50.00m

This guy is going to be the best midfielder in the world one day. Already a French international - with a debut goal to boot - and a superstar of Ligue 1, the sky really is the limit for Camavinga. Imagine how much he's going to cost when he inevitably leaves Rennes...

1. Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich) - €80.00m

Who else could be number one, eh? The Canadian winger-turned-defender was one of the key men behind Bayern's treble-winning season in 2019/20 and he's probably the best left-back in the world. All before his 20th birthday, not bad that.

Oh and Davies also has 17 caps and five goals for Canada's senior side - generational.
