UFC boss Dana White has admitted he made a 'big mistake' by allowing legendary fighter Anderson Silva one last fight.Silva's illustrious career in the UFC octagon came to a sad conclusion on Saturday night in Las Vegas, with Uriah Hall forcing the fight into a fourth-round stoppage.Hall dropped the 45-year-old senior statesman with an overhand shot, before calling on the referee to intervene after landing several subsequent hits while Silva was grounded. In truth, Silva never looked capable of competing with Hall, who made light work of his experienced opponent.Ten years ago, Silva would have made mince-meat out of slow-starting Hall. Sadly, he just couldn't grab hold of the fight and the writing began to show on the wall as Hall grew in confidence. In the aftermath of the bout, White made it perfectly clear that Anderson's days in the UFC octagon were well and truly over.

"He fought a guy that has absolutely zero output. They’re in a five-round main event on ESPN and they threw 11 punches in the second round.

"Uriah Hall is one of the most gun-shy fighters in the UFC," an aggrieved White said at the post-fight press conference at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

"And look at Anderson. When the fight was over, he couldn’t even stand up to do his interview. He had to sit down and do an interview. I made a big mistake and I shouldn’t have let him fight this fight tonight.

"He’s a legend of this sport and he’s a legend of this company, and I did something I disagreed with. I knew I was right, and tonight proved I was right, and Anderson Silva should never fight again."

"I don't feel good about myself that I let Anderson Silva fight this last fight," he said.

While Silva's time in the UFC is confirmed to be over, the fighter did state that he would be interested in entertaining offers from other leagues.

In reality, after that performance, now might be the best time to call it a day, Anderson.
