UFC News: Dana White says Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier 2 is a done deal ‘as far as I know’.The rematch between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier is a go, that is, according to UFC President Dana White.Since the pair’s first meeting back in 2014, when both fought in the featherweight division, McGregor has gone on to make headlines here, there and everywhere, both positive and negative. The first fight saw the Irishman triumph over Poirier via a first-round TKO, and six years later, a rematch is most certainly on the cards.White has recently stated that it was, in fact, McGregor that was the holdout party for the rematch but, since Thursday, both camps have tweeted apparent thumbs up, with McGregor posting a smiley emoji and Poirier posting a diamond after his nickname.Controversy has followed McGregor throughout his career, both in and outside of the UFC; he is currently on his third retirement and, if all i’s and t’s crossed and dotted, is set to make another comeback.

The ‘Notorious’ one has been reportedly upset with the UFC in recent times due to inactivity after an emphatic and triumphant return to the sport back in January. Widespread rumours of fallings out between the UFC star and White have been circulating ever since.

McGregor’s most recent appearance inside the Octagon was at UFC 246, in which he stopped Donald Cerrone inside the first round.

Conor has since been actively posting on social media his workouts and plans for even a potential boxing return, so it would seem his fingers are currently in many pies.

Whatever the situation is with the Irishman, it seems clear everyone wants to see him fight again, in one capacity or another, that’s for sure.
