Gareth Bale is home. The Welshman scored the winning goal three minutes after coming on as a substitute for Tottenham in their 2-1 victory over Brighton. Spurs had endured a frustrating night up until that point with Tariq Lamptey cancelling out Harry Kane's opener. Kane's penalty had been soft, but Spurs also hit the post twice and deserved to regain their lead. It fell to Bale to do just that. The forward powered in a header from an inch-perfect Sergio Reguilon cross to delight Jose Mourinho. Welcome back, Gareth. Somewhere in Madrid right now, a remote is flying across the room at Zinedine Zidane's TV.  Reguilon may have a buy-back clause, but Bale is well out of his Bernabeu hell.

Bale is back

The 31-year-old could not look happier to be back scoring goals in a Lilywhite shirt and it seems he even took the opportunity to troll Real while he was at it.

Is that 'VAMOS!' he can be heard shouting in Spanish while he celebrates with his teammates? Plenty of fans on social media think so:

Bale loved nothing more than to take the p*** out of Real even when he was still employed by them, and who can blame him?

Their fans grew familiar with the sight of him cackling on the bench when Zidane's side conceded a goal, or even pretending to be asleep.

This was a bed Real made themselves with their awful treatment of a player who ought to be regarded as a legend after winning four Champions League titles with them and scoring in two finals.

There is no such friction now he's back at the Lane and after a sub-par display against Royal Antwerp in midweek, it's fantastic to see him back doing what he does best.
