Harry Kane and Tottenham continued their impressive start to the season with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Brighton on Saturday evening.

Kane’s 11th goal in 12 appearances from the penalty spot gave Spurs the lead after just 13 minutes. However, the way in which the England captain won the award of the spot-kick has been questioned.

Kane appeared to back into Brighton’s Adam Lallana as they challenged for the ball on the edge of the penalty area. A free-kick was initially awarded before VAR adjudged it to be inside the penalty.

Whether you think it was the correct decision or not, there was only either one outcome when Kane placed the ball down on the penalty spot. He just doesn’t miss from 12 yards, does he?

That goal moved Kane into the top 10 goalscorers in Premier League history. The 27-year-old has now notched 149 goals in England’s top-flight, moving level with former Tottenham striker Les Ferdinand.

But not everyone was focusing on Kane’s incredible achievement.

Instead, ESPN decided to talk about the way Kane speaks after the match.

In footage that clearly wasn’t supposed to be broadcast, journalist Mark Ogden begins talking about Kane reaching the top 10 all-time Premier League goalscorers,

He begins: “Harry Kane, you know he is probably the most…” before seemingly getting bored of what he was saying and waving his hand in disgust.

Fellow presenter Alexis Nunes then chips in with: “He’s like ‘Do I have to talk about this mofo?’”

Ogden fires back with: “It’s just really boring, isn’t it?”

A third presenter - presumably in the studio - can then be heard saying: “I hate hearing him speak. He’s got a weird voice.”

Ogden then jokes: “Shall I do it in the style of Harry Kane?”

The unseen presenter adds: “That’s what stands out about him.”

Nunes concludes: "Yeah, his voice. Literally. For someone who speaks like that, thank God he plays football.”

Disgusting behaviour.

We don’t like calling for anyone to be sacked but surely ESPN have to investigate the three presenters for mocking Kane’s speech.

Right now, he’s the best player in the Premier League and for pundits and presenters to find it “boring” to talk about his qualities and would rather make fun of him is just outrageous.
