Manchester United can't catch themselves a break this season.
Just when it looks as though they've finally kicked their 2020/21 campaign into gear, they plunge themselves back into despair with another shocking result - and last weekend was case in point.
There was a real feel-good factor at Old Trafford after wins over RB Leipzig and PSG in consecutive weeks, but their home form in the Premier League sideswiped their optimism once again.
Solskjaer coming in for criticism
After limping their way to a 0-0 draw against Chelsea, United stumbled to their third league defeat on home soil this season as Arsenal bagged their first away victory at a 'top six' side since 2015.
It's a damning result that leaves the Red Devils stewing on just seven points, firmly in the bottom half of the table, while also sparking calls for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's head on social media.
Most United fans will acknowledge that a lot of the blame for United's struggles this season lie with the board, but patience is starting to run equally thin with Solskjaer's tactics and team selections.

And with the Arsenal defeat marking Solskjaer's 100th game in the technical area for United, there has never been a clearer opportunity for supporters to put his tenure under the microscope.
Besides, it can be easy to get enveloped in the negativity of a disappointing result that sometimes, it's shrewd to take a step back and see what the statistics say about the bigger picture.
In other words, is the hysteria surrounding Solskjaer's job being under threat completely justified or do United fans need to cut him some slack? Well, we've sought to find the answer.

So, yes, that does mean the purple patch of his interim spell have been put to the side and only teams who have played at least 38 games feature if you're wondering where Fulham and co are hiding.

Note: Leicester should be awarded an extra three points - thus moving them to a total of 88, but not impacting their position - for their victory over Leeds United.
A worrying outlook for Man Utd
It's not terrible, that much is true, but seventh place over the last 19 months isn't exactly the form of a United manager destined to bring back the glory days.
It's certainly damning to see the Red Devils languishing beneath Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City, while their eternal rivals Liverpool are a gargantuan 55 points ahead of them.
That's not to mention that Solskjaer has only won one more Premier League game as permanent boss than Ralph Hasenhuttl at Southampton in the same time period.
Sheesh, even Crystal Palace are only three wins shy of the Old Trafford club and they're closer to Aston Villa in 17th place than they are to Manchester City in the silver medal position.
In other words, the situation is far from rosy at United and perhaps those #OleOut supporters, for better or for worse, can settle into their opinion safe in the knowledge the statistics back them up.
