Tyson Fury has reportedly selected unbeaten German fighter Agit Kabayel as his next opponent for his return to a UK ring on December 5.

This is set to be Fury’s first fight on home soil since beating Francesco Pianeta in Belfast in August 2018, and his first fight in London since stopping Christian Hammer in February 2015.

Fury’s promoter Frank Warren confirmed the news that a contract has been sent to Kabayel for the German to sign.

In an interview with talkSPORT, Warren said:

“We’re giving the guy we want to fight, which is Kabayel, 24 hours now to sign the contract or we’re going to move on.

“He’s undefeated and has a win on his record over Derek Chisora. He was the European Champion and he’s ranked by the WBC.

“He’s got about 24 hours to make up his mind to sign it and send it back or we’ll move on. He’s the fight subject to the contract being signed.”

Fury’s last fight was his victory over Deontay Wilder for the WBC Heavyweight crown back in February of this year in Las Vegas.

‘The Gypsy King’ had signed up to a third fight with the American but the rematch clause for that match expired last month.

This has prompted the Brit to look elsewhere, with both Columbian heavyweight Oscar Rivas and Carlos Takam, who was a previous opponent of Anthony Joshua, being mentioned as potential opposition.

Instead, however, a former sparring partner of Joshua’s has been selected as a competitor for the WBC Heavyweight Champion.

Kabayel is currently unbeaten in 20 fights, is ranked the eighth challenger by the WBA, 15th in the WBC and ninth in the IBF.

Joshua, meanwhile, faces mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev, which is a week after Fury’s homecoming fight.

If both champions emerge victorious from their respective bouts it sets up a much-anticipated first ever heavyweight world title fight with four belts on the line.
