Deontay Wilder has rejected the training offer of undefeated champion Floyd Mayweather, citing the latter's actions as nothing more than a publicity stunt.

Wilder has been making the headlines recently with several outlandish claims. He came forward saying his former trainer Mark Breland, whom he fired a few weeks ago, spiked his drink during the boxer's loss to Tyson Fury.

And in the process of demanding a trilogy fight with Fury, after their rematch clause expired, Wilder argued Fury had an object the "size and the shape of an egg weight" in his glove to allow him to manipulate his glove and gain an advantage by scratching Wilder's ear.

Mayweather came forward in October to offer his services to the Bronze Bomber after he lost to  Fury, a fight in which Breland threw in the towel during the seventh round to save Wilder from more punishment.

Despite Mayweather's prestige as a 50-0 fighter, Wilder ruled out Money joining the team as a trainer, saying he's never felt any love from Mayweather.

"My thing is, every fighter I've fought, Floyd has bet against me," said Wilder in an interview with Barbershop Conversations.

"'All this time, and all of a sudden now? Why? I don't need anybody. I've made it all this far. Why do I need to change up anything? Of course, we need to replace, and you're going to see what it is. But nobody has reached out to me.

"It's publicity. When I see people do that stuff, it's for publicity. But to the offer [from Mayweather], thank you, but no thank you. I don't feel any love from that man. Their actions don't show that.

"It's fake love to me, but they know that themselves. They can't look me in the eyes and tell me they care about me and want to see me do well."

Wilder is currently recovering from bicep surgery and may have to wait until 2022 before he gets another chance at a world title. Fury and Anthony Joshua may look to fulfil their two-fight deal as one of the pair looks to become the first undisputed heavyweight since Lennox Lewis in 1999.
