Sergio Ramos has just scored his 100th goal for Real Madrid.
Let's all take a moment to remember that the Spaniard is a centre-back and yet, here we are crowning him as a centurion for arguably the biggest club in all of world football.
Ramos has long since established himself as one of the highest-scoring defenders in history, but like one of his former Real teammates, he's seemed hell-bent on proving age is just a number recently.

That's because Ramos notched up no less than 13 goals last season, which is the highest tally of his career and he's picked up from where he left off in 2020/21.
In fact, Ramos has now scored as many goals as Lionel Messi this campaign, not to mention more from open play, by collecting his third strike since the restart against Inter Milan.
And now, moving to 100 goals for Real means that he boasts more strikes for Los Blancos than legendary players such as Kaka, Zinedine Zidane and Luis Figo can lay claim to.

It was yet further proof, too, that Ramos' weighty goal-scoring statistics aren't simply down to penalties with the Spaniard directing a fine glancing header past Samir Handanovic.

Karim Benzema had already fired the Spaniards into the lead with a piece of history himself: scoring against his 31st Champions League opponent, which is a total that only Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi and Raul can top
Nevertheless, the opening 45 minutes were by no means plain sailing for Zinedine Zidane's men as they were pegged back by Lautaro Martinez, who spent the summer being linked with Barcelona.
Regardless of the final result, though, there can be no denying that the evening belongs to Ramos and the sort of goal-scoring record we haven't seen from a defender since, well, Ronald Koeman.
The world record seems pretty unrealistic, but I'm pretty sure the free-kick-taking, penalty-dispatching, cross-dominating defender with two Champions League final goals will settle for a century for Real.
