Diogo Jota is proving to be the signing of the summer.Liverpool's newest attacking weapon has hit the ground running in the famous red shirt and scored his first hat-trick for the club tonight in the Champions League against Atalanta.The Portuguese star was unplayable in Bergamo, tormenting the Italian side's defence throughout.Jota scored his first of the evening after 16 minutes, dinking the ball over the 'keeper after a brilliant pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold.Just look at this guy's composure in front of goal.

The 23-year-old just never looked like missing, did he?

Jota's second of the evening came just after the half hour mark. The former Wolves man controlled the ball with his left in the box, before firing home on the half volley with his right.

What. A. Goal!

Liverpool then went 4-0 up early in the second half thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, before Jota made it 5-0 on 55 minutes.

The assist from Mane to help the Portuguese complete his hat-trick was pretty special.

Who needs Roberto Firmino when you've got Jota, eh?

Jota will now be eyeing up a start on the weekend in Liverpool's big game against Manchester City in the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp did bring on Firmino to replace the Portuguese forward on 65 minutes, perhaps hinting that the summer signing will feature from the get-go at the Etihad.

For years now, many have speculated as to how Liverpool's famous front three of Salah, Mane and Firmino could be improved.

In Jota, Klopp has possibly found the answer to that question and Firmino's time as an undisputed starter is surely at an end.

Jota has demonstrated that he's willing to press and work just as hard as the Brazilian, but he's also added far more of a goal threat since his arrival.

If you need evidence to support that final point, Jota has scored seven goals for Liverpool in 2020, while Firmino has managed just five. The former has only been a Reds player since September...
