Liverpool are loving life in the Champions League this season. For the first time in the club's history, the Reds have won their first three group games in Europe's elite competition - and they're yet to concede a goal.Last night, Liverpool delivered one of their finest performances of the Jurgen Klopp era, thrashing Atalanta 5-0 in Bergamo.Diogo Jota was the star of the show, the £41m summer signing scoring his first hat-trick for the Reds, taking his tally for the club to seven goals in just 10 games in all competitions. The Portuguese has now scored two more goals for Liverpool in 2020 than Roberto Firmino, despite only arriving at the club in September.Mane, Jota & Salah celebrateAt this moment in time, Jota has to be firmly ahead of Firmino in the Reds' pecking order and his individual highlights from the Atalanta game suggest that won't be changing anytime soon.Let's take a look at the 23-year-old's 'Italian Job' yesterday evening...

Jota's highlights vs Atalanta

This guy can do it all, the perfect focal point for Liverpool's attack.

He presses like a madman, links the play together, can dribble with the ball at pace like Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah and - most importantly - is deadly in front of goal.

We also cannot ignore his ambidexterity, which was evident for all to see during his second goal to put Liverpool 2-0 up in the first-half.

Jota perfectly controlled a lofted pass with his left foot and then proceeded to finish emphatically with his right.

The former Wolves man will now be pushing for a second consecutive start when Liverpool travel to play Manchester City on Sunday.

Firmino has always been Klopp's go-to man in big games, the player he's built his playing system around, but surely the manager cannot ignore Jota's goal scoring form, right?

We all know Firmino's strengths, but his profligacy in front of goal is starting to become a real concern.

A team of Liverpool's calibre needs a central striker capable of scoring 25 to 30 goals a season and right now, Jota looks like the man capable of meeting that quota.
