Manchester United legend and Wales manager Ryan Giggs has come under fire this week.
It was reported by The Sun on Monday evening that the 46-year-old had been arrested the night before on suspicion of assaulting his girlfriend Kate Greville.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: “Police were called at 10.05pm on Sunday to reports of a disturbance. A woman in her 30s sustained minor injuries but did not require any treatment.
“A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of section 47 assault and section 39 common assault.”
Giggs relieved of Wales duties for now
The Football Association of Wales (FAW) then confirmed that it had 'mutually agreed' that Giggs would not take charge of the upcoming three international fixtures in light of the incident.
An FAW spokesperson said: "The FAW is aware of an alleged incident involving the men's national team manager Ryan Giggs. The FAW will be making no further comment at this current time."
Giggs denies all allegations
An insider told The Sun: "Giggs will be devastated at the decision. He's a proud Welshman and it'll be a huge blow. Becoming Wales manager was an absolute privilege.
"But he's facing serious allegations and so swift action had to be taken."
According to Sky News, Giggs' representatives say that the former Premier League star denies all the allegations against him relating to the episode on November 1.
Greville reportedly moves out
Now, The Sun are reporting that Greville has moved out of Giggs' £1.7 million property after he was arrested for allegedly assaulting her, packing up and taking her golden retriever Mac with her.
Greville is now claimed to have moved into a safe house and Giggs is banned from making contact with her in accordance with his bail conditions.
Additional information about the situation has emerged in the Daily Mail, too, with a source informing the newspaper that Giggs had been suspected of seeing other women, though this is unconfirmed.
Source claims Greville suspected cheating
The source reportedly explained: "Kate had had enough of the relationship and wanted to leave. She wasn't sure but she thought Ryan had been seeing other women.
"They had argued after coming back from a night out. The relationship has not been great for some time."
Greville had taken a PR job at Hotel Football, which is co-owned by Giggs, in 2013, before dating the United icon on and off since 2017.
Their relationship was made public just months after the confirmation of Giggs' divorce from wife Stacey on whom he had been cheating for several years with brother Rhodri’s spouse Natasha.
