Harry Kane has been in electric form this season.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker has led the line as Jose Mourinho’s men have racked up a series of impressive results in the top-flight.

They have beaten Manchester United 6-1, and Southampton 5-2, and have managed to grind out narrow wins over both Burnley and Brighton & Hove Albion in recent weeks.

Kane has been central to that run, scoring six goals in the Premier League and providing an incredible eight assists. Four of those came in the Southampton game.

The England captain has also scored five times in three Europa League games, and will be vital to any hopes of success that Jose Mourinho will have in north London this season.

There are always reports that Kane could well leave if trophies do not start to rack up but one former Premier League striker believes he will be spending the rest of his career in the white shirt.

Kane has yet to win a professional trophy with the club, though former Aston Villa star Gabriel Agbonlahor has backed him to end that drought this term.

Speaking to Football Insider, he said: “He’s 27 now, he’ll soon be 28 is that the sort of age where clubs are like ‘Hmm, we’re not sure’.

“Daniel Levy is not going to let him leave on the cheap. Even though he’s an outstanding striker and England’s best striker, I don’t think clubs are going to pay the fee that Spurs will want for a 27, 28 year old.

“I feel like he will stay at Spurs for the rest of his career.

“I do actually think that Spurs will win a trophy this year. They’ve got the team there they’ve got the squad, and they’ve got the manager who knows how to do it.”

GIVEMESPORT’S Harry Sherlock says…

Kane is on track to be a Spurs legend.

The striker has come through the ranks at the club and emerged as perhaps the best out-and-out forward in the league and potentially in Europe.

He has scored 199 goals in 299 games for the club and also registered 39 assists; that’s 238 goal involvements, or an involvement every 0.79 games.

That is a truly astonishing record and one has to think that it will eventually lead to a winner’s medal being draped around his neck.

If Kane stays, and can parlay his goals and assists into silverware, they may as well get to work on the statue.
